Jamie Bates wins two-fight deal with Glory
The first ever Road to Glory UK took place at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre on Saturday which featured an eight-man tournament with both the winner, Mo Abdurahman, and runner-up, Bailey Sugden, both winning two-fight deals with world leading kickboxing promotion GLORY.
Contender Promotions’ Andrew Liddell and Northern King’s Gary Laws were both unfortunate in their efforts in the tournament, however it’ll be Jamie Bates who carries the flag for the North East as he beat ISKA World Champion Kev Ward in a welterweight SuperFight and earned himself a two-fight deal with GLORY Kickboxing.
The MASAC team and a large group of Bates’ fans made the long travel down from County Durham and were loud in attendance as Jamie battled to a decision victory in the co-main event of the night.
There is no news yet on when Bates will be making his GLORY debut, but their are rumours GLORY are returning to London with a huge show in 2017.
